Service Description: Services provided include:
  • Crisis hotline that provide immediate shelter for women and children
  • Transitional homes
  • Mental health program: free, remote
  • Children and youth program: helps children ages 4-17 build resilience and life skills through mentorship and tailored activities * also supports Muslim children and youth currently in foster care, ensuring they receive culturally and spiritually sensitive support
  • Education: aid residents and clients in obtaining diverse educational experiences, encompassing both in-house programs and traditional avenues.  Workshops for the community
  • Food and essentials: provide essential items to residents, clients, and those who need it in the community
  • Food bank (The People's Market)
  • Legal: help residents and clients to apply for legal aid through legal aid agencies
  • Life skills: caseworkers help teach residents and clients life skills so that they are able to be self-sustainable
  • Referrals: help residents and clients apply for government programs and subsidies * also make referrals to external programs from different organizations
  • Remote casework: caseworkers work remotely to assists clients
  • Safety planning: help residents and clients plan before they leave an abusive situation to after they move out from our shelters
  • Training: run workshops and training sessions for mainstream shelters and community organizations so that they understand the diverse needs of Muslim clients and why certain practices must be conducted differently
