Service Description:
|
Spiritual care services are available to people of all faiths and spiritual perspectives, including:- compassionate listening and companionship
- assessment of spiritual needs
- support during crisis situations
- connection to patient's faith tradition for religious rituals and support
- meditation space and sacred texts
- emotional and spiritual support for experiences of loss and grief, hope and healing
- weekly Christian non-denominational worship (Wednesdays 10:30 am on the 3 North Complex Transitional Care Unit)
Faith leader, rabbi, minister, imam or other religious leader can also attend to patient's needs while they are in hospital * Roman Catholics seeking sacramental care such as Sacrament of Reconciliation and Healing (anointing) or the Eucharist can ask hospital staff to have the hospital's main switchboard page the on-call priest * Eucharistic visits from the local parish can also be arranged
