Service Description:

Services for Newcomers:
- information and referral
- Language Instruction for Newcomers (LINC)
- employment services
- Community Connections Program - volunteer mentor to help learn about the community and available resources * help with learning about banking services, transit, education, community services and more * suitable for a newcomer who has been in Canada for less than three years
- services for international students - settlement counselling and orientation to Canada * referrals to community resources and assistance with documentation and form filling
- Intersections: Support for 2SLGBTQ+ Newcomers - personalized counselling support and information regarding settlement with a 2SLGTBQ+ lens, strengthening social networks, and decreasing isolation * referral to external services such as income tax clinics, legal aid, and other relevant community services
Health Services:
- Adult Day Program - care to frail and/or cognitively impaired individuals * promote healthy aging and encourage an active lifestyle
- caregiver support group - monthly basis, for caregivers and volunteers * to educate, inform and empower those providing care to seniors
- assisted bathing services
- foot care services
- friendly visiting program/telephone reassurance
- seniors wellness groups
Family Services:
Child, Youth and Parenting - Counsellors support parents and families dealing with cultural and inter-generational conflict, provide positive parenting strategies and help families understand the range of supports available to them
Community Mental Health Support - Housing and Support in Peel (HASP) is a partnership with Supportive Housing in Peel (SHIP) and delivers housing support services to clients residing in SHIP units * SHIP provides safe and affordable housing * Indus Community Services provide case management, service coordination and person-centered support to SHIP residents
Family Court Support Services - Provides support to victims of domestic violence navigating the family court system
ACES Program for Women (Advocacy, Counselling, Empowerment & Safety) - Counselling for victims of domestic/family violence and abuse * crisis intervention, counselling and risk assessment * safety planning and transitional support * assistance with legal issues and advocacy * referrals to community resources * support groups for women and children who have witnessed partner abuse through the Helping End Abuse for Life (HEAL) network * when needed, Indus will facilitate a referral and connection of French-speaking clients to OASIS centre des femmes or La Maison d’Hébergement
