Service Description:

The Foundation works with community partners and certified instructors, and delivers free arts and exercise programs that help manage the physical, cognitive and social conditions associated with Parkinson's Disease (PD) * volunteer opportunities available * fundraising events
Current programs include:- Group exercise class to improve fitness, counteract PD symptoms and increase daily activity
- Boxing classes to help improve hand-eye coordination, agility, speed, endurance, and strength
- Cycle Fit classes as spinning can improve overall motor function and reduce tremors, bradykinesia, and rigidity
- Tai Chi: a mind-body series of exercises, that improves flexibility, balance, and strength and improves cardiovascular fitness
- Indoor virtual golf and outdoor golf
- Mindful Movement to Music: Exercises will involve stretching, short choreographic sequences to keep our memory sharp, and techniques inspired by contemporary dance and ballet
- Dynamic Movement is a chair based movement class, focusing on mobility
- Caregiver Coffee and Friendship: led by Laura Zega, 647-220-3758 < laura@passionforparkinsons@gmail.com or laurazega7@gmail.com> * both Coffee and Friendships groups are at the same time and location but in separate rooms
