Service Description: Colorectal Cancer Screening - Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT)

FIT is an at-home, safe and painless stool-based test used for screening people who may have a chance of getting colon cancer * FIT checks for tiny drops of blood in the stool (poop), which can be caused by colon cancer or polyps (growths in the colon or rectum that can turn into cancer over time) * when colorectal cancer is found and treated early, the chances of successful treatment are better


Fees: None
Application: Contact family doctor or nurse practitioner to order FIT kit * once a FIT kit has been ordered, In-Common Laboratories (ICL) will mail a FIT kit to the Ontario mailing address of patient's choice
