Service Description: Health centre focused on family and community health * health professionals assess and treat non-life-threatening injuries or illnesses * referrals to other local health services and personal development groups * some of the programs may not be able to accept new clients immediately

Clinical Services:
  • Primary Health Care - Family physician, a nurse practitioner, and a registered practical nurse providing comprehensive health care services
  • Chiropody (Foot Care) - Assesses and treats common foot problems * includes basic foot care for both regular and diabetic clients * also offers medical compression stockings, custom made orthotics, and ultrasound and laser therapy
  • Nutrition Counseling and Services - Dietetic services to LAMP clients and programs * one-on-one, couple, or family sessions for people with food and health-related concerns
  • Diabetes Education - Education, support and counseling * teams of dietitians and nurse educators facilitate individual and group sessions * service is available in many languages * designed to encourage physical activity, and to educate clients and community members on how to manage their diabetic condition
  • Dental Care - Healthy Smiles Ontario Program: Serving children up to 17 years of age * accepting new patients and emergency appointments available * serving seniors aged 65 years and older who are in the Region of Peel's Seniors Dental Program * these programs have specific eligibility requirements and also require a registration process * call 905-602-0520 for more information and assistance
  • Social Work Program - Short-term counseling services to the Centre's priority populations * client-centred approach - focusing on what the client presents as their needs and priorities * currently there is wait list for the service

Other Social Support Programs:
  • Seniors Wellness Program - International folk dance * exercise/yoga classes * Mandarin reading club
  • Mental Wellness - For newcomer/immigrant communities and trans communities in Mississauga to develop life skills, reduce isolation and empower community members
  • Client Advocacy - Advocates on behalf of our priority populations clients on various issues, including government sponsored programs (Ontario Works, Ontario Disability Support Program, etc.), immigration issues, housing/food security, legal issues and system navigation * seasonal income tax clinics
  • QX - A set of support services for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, intersex, queer, questioning and two-spirit (LGBTTIQQ2S) adults in Peel Region, including weekly support and social drop-in, queen and trans primary health care, advocacy, referrals/consultations and collaboration with community organizations including Gender Journeys Peel
  • Health and Racism Working Group - Advocates on behalf of community members for better health access aimed at racialized communities
  • Commissioner of Affidavits - Commissioner helps with affidavits, true copy and form filling, etc * registration is required
