Service Description: As non- profit organization, Vietnamese Community Centre of Mississauga provides programs that enable for the multi-cultural resident in the region to develop skills necessary for the participation in Canada life , ensures that programs and services provided by VCCM and other organizations in the region are accessible to the multi-cultural population, preserves the Vietnamese culture and tradition in harmony with multiculturalism, assists newcomers living in Peel region to apply for SIN, OHIP, legal and financial assistance, non-profit housing and settlement-related services , organizes support groups for women, youth, and seniors to aid integration into the mainstream society, provides settlement and counselling services for the community , offers interpretation and translation services, provides probation counselling- assists new immigrants in registration procedures to enrol in educational institutions, co-operates with Peel Board of Education to provide Heritage language, Language and Skills /Settlement services, citizenship classes, mathematics, and computer classes, filing income tax for free, provides job search techniques in resume writing and office skills , holds seminars and workshops to inform the community of issues concerning Canadian legal system and human rights, Cultural Services- organizes traditional festivals, ritual ceremonies and Canadian celebrations , publishes newsletters to inform Vietnamese residents of community activities Sports and Other Activities- offers a community-based music band to perform on holidays,organizes picnics, camping trips and scenic sightings.
